Humbleness and self-pride
Do we have to praise ourselves
To feed our ego and pride?
Humbleness does not know
Any self-pride…
It does not no comparation
Ony to make us higher, better?
Humbleness has its own
inherent reward
person possessing
this gem of trait
is always grounded
highs or lows
do not make any different
to such a person.
Yes, thank you dear Harbans – as also Kabir said: I am the worst of all men. (and he was indeed very very humble)
“Humbless has its own inherent reward” as you have nicely put it and the same is also valid with selfless service (if there is no self-pride in it) – then it contains also its own reward.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, my friend
Didi
Absolutely, wonderfully written, true and wise.

You know how much I love Peacocks. 😊🤗
Humility is indeed vital for life. It is a condition of the heart. When we give sincere thanks to God, and others, it requires humility.
Giving of ourselves with humility is an act of selflessness.
Yet, when done grudgingly it is an act of selfishness.
God looks at the heart and knows the very intent.
Having an attitude of gratitude builds humility.

Thank you very much, my dear Yonnie for your beautiful and profound comment 🙂
Kabir, a holy Saint who has lived about 700 years ago, he said: first comes humility, second humility and third humility – it show that this person who is humble towards all creation and himself as well has respect, has love, has right understanding, has gratitude even when bad things come to him as a reaction of the past, has compassion and understanding, has overcome any kind of violence in his head (starting with the thoughts) and is a living example for the world how we can live a righteous life – these are the values which every person should make them alive in his or her own life, should practise it in all situations, life offers us. A humble person is always kind and helps wherever possible, is doing selfless service for man, is personified love.
Thank you, my dear friend – big big hugs to you in thankfulness 🙂 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
