Thoughts move

Thoughts move the world
Influence our now
As we are all connected
Not separated
Because we are all
A collective being
One consciousness…

  1. We all heard that saying, “a penny for your thoughts.” They wonder why you are staring off into the distance, oblivious to your surroundings. I don’t always want to share what’s on my mind. Often, I’m glad no one can hear my thoughts but God. But because God has full access to my mind and nothing is hidden from Him I want to ensure I have Godly thoughts.

But, I can’t control what comes into my mind but I can combat my dark thoughts with the Word of God. Sometimes I can be amazed at the things that pops into my mind. Through the fall of man due to Adam, I have inherited the corrupt nature, and this means those hard, unforgiving or discouraging thoughts all come from my flesh–my human nature.

Most people will accept this stating, “I’m human.” Many people think as long as it stays a thought, there is no harm. After all, I’m not hurting anyone. However, the Word makes it very clear that we have to let that mind that was in Christ Jesus be also in us (Philippians 2:5-11).

Paul tells us in Romans 7:8 that which I hate I practice. There is a conflict that goes on in the mind between what the mind wants and what the flesh wants. The Christian life is that of an overcomer–in thought and in deed when fight the good fight of faith. The help of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God will help me to think the right thoughts.

    • Dear Kim,

Many people think that thoughts do no harm, but our thoughts also follow the principle of cause and effect. Our bad thoughts pollute the connection from person to person. We are all drops of the one great ocean, God, and are all brothers and sisters in Him. Violence and hatred start in our heads, not only in words. Our thoughts are the roots of words and deeds and here we have to be careful not to hurt anyone, to think badly about anyone, because what we sow we have to reap… If our thoughts are constantly absorbed in God, in reverence and humility for His whole creation, then the mind in us will not produce bad thoughts. That is why the saints from all religions also emphasize: Think twice before you speak and put things into practice. From good thoughts come good words and deeds, because they also respect the principle of non-injury.

Thank you for your detailed comment, dear Kim
      All the best
