Event: “Water of life” – by Christ

One Samaritan lady was going by with a pitcher full of water on her head. Christ wanted water from her, but she, out of an inferiority complex, did not give, and wondered, why he asks water from me? So Christ said: “Had she given me water that would have satisfied my thirst only once; again I would have thirsted. Had she come to me, I would have given her the water of life which would have satisfied all of her thirst for life.”

  1. I love this story because Jesus did something that was not cultural appropriate, He spoke to not just any woman, but a Samaritan woman. She was shocked when Jesus asked her for water because she was considered an outcast in Jewish thought. Jesus was speaking to her, a Samaritan woman. The discussion turned into about Living Water. The woman came to know who Jesus was through what He was telling her. All the woman know was that she wanted this Living Water, she was the first evangelist.

    • Thank you, dear Kim – Indeed, bread and water of Life is what we all need, the divine Amrit, to receive the understanding of Oneness deeply in us and rise above our own body consciousness, to see that we are not the body… Christ gave a good example to this Samaritan woman. We all have to learn this right understanding, not just the understanding of our intellect and mind, but with the heart of our spirituality.

Have a great weekend, my friend 🙂

        • Thank you, dear Kim 🙂

and revelation is spirituality, means what all competent Masters including Christ said: “Man know thyself” – this we can only do by strict analysing ourselves without sparing us – we usually tent to critisize others, but when we start to be so strict with ourselves – we really start to discover many things in us that we did not know before, then we can see how our mind is acting and posing, is using tricks against our real Self/Soul.

          All the best, dear friend

            • This is what all competent Masters say: and it is pregnant with meaning. Christ said also: “The kingdom of God is in you…but when you do not know yourself, how can you know the Kingdom of God? This is in fact the essence of spirituality: Man know thyself or according to Socrates “nosce te ipsum or temet nosce.”

Here now examples from different sources (from certain people and books including Jesus Christ)

Self-knowledge is the key to the knowledge of Truth or God. And throughout the ages, all the great enlightened beings taught this.

              “Know Thyself” – Socrates
“Examine yourself & understand who you are… Whoever does not know self, does not know anything. But, whoever knows self, has acquired the knowledge of the universe.” ~ Jesus, Book of Thomas (Gnostic Gospels)

“Knowing others is intelligence, knowing yourself is true wisdom.” – Lao-Tzu

“This is true knowledge, to seek the Self…To seek anything else is ignorance.” – Bhagavad-Gita

“He who knows himself knows God.” – The prophet Muhammad

“Jesus said, ‘When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you shall know that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty.’” – Gospel of Thomas

“Those who know and realize the Self are forever free.” – Katha Upanishad

“All the scriptures tell us one thing: Know Thyself. If you have known yourself, you have known everything else.” – Swami Satchidananda

              All the best
