Light and shadow

 

Sometimes we appear
Because of pride and fear

Sometimes we lie
To have no cry

Sometimes we hide
From our side

Sometimes we play
With mud and clay

Sometimes we cheat
And steal the seed

Sometimes we are loud
On which we are proud

Sometimes we pretend
With masks we were lent

Sometimes we fight
With our mind too tight

Sometimes we’re blind
Convinced of our kind

Sometimes we cannot see
The beauty of a tree

But sometimes we can hear
The voice of the heart
And all is clear
Our conscience, our guard
