Library
A person who lives in the world must know who he is, what he needs, where he can get it from, how he can get it and who will give it to him. Reading and analyzing all the Holy Scriptures, one learns something about the higher values of life, that is the meaning of the library.
Dr. Harbhajan Singh
In the library, especially the Holy Scriptures of the religions will be available, as well as biographies of great personalities and philosophical writings. Here you will find exhibitions focusing on spirituality.
Today we are confronted with a multitude of scriptures that have been written in different times and in different languages.
Already in the Upanishades it is said that there is only one truth, although it is described in different ways by the saints and wise men. Ultimately, recognizing it is a matter of inner experience and not of understanding on a purely intellectual level. The writings give valuable clues to this original inner aspect, which is common to all religions, just as we find many similarities in the ethical guidelines.
The external aspect of religion encompasses the doctrines of faith and the external forms of worship, which can be very different. If the inner core falls into oblivion, they gain too much weight. In this lies the danger that through narrow-mindedness and dogmatism religion becomes a bondage for mankind and can even become the cause of war and conflict. The library aims to encourage comparative study of religions and promote an unbiased viewpoint.
One of the exhibitions illustrates the basic unity of all religions through various texts and graphic representations.
