Lack of association

If we look at everything separately
We will fail to understand the whole picture…

To lose oneself, to find one Self

Only when we lose our identity.
We can act selflessly.
As there is nothing
To cling at, attach with

Then we become actless doers
Dive in Oneness, become one with the One…

Made of same stuff

Why are we all in so many things
Same or similar
In facial expressions and gestures
In laughing and crying
In smiles and in anger
In fear and courage
In joy and in sorrow
In enthusiasm and in mournfulness

Because our mind emits similar conditions
On the basis of our senses

Because we all are from the same source…

What is God, and how can we know Him? (Part 3)

Ever since the world began, all Masters have been saying the same thing. We have so many scriptures at our command, so many pages of the books of God that have been written. There will be many more as each Master comes and describes his contact with God or Reality. From their God intoxication, they pour out whatever comes, of high inspiration, just to give us the knowledge of Reality they have seen. Man has been trying to follow that but has failed.

Then, how can we see Him? Ever since the world began, this has been the fate of man. Unless we see God, the question remains, what is God?

Kabir says there is one Reality in all, supporting all creation, immanent in every form. With That immanent in every form, why do we differ? Why are there so many wars, so many religions everywhere?

The reason is that when a Master came he had some experience of that Reality. To the people who met him, he simply gave them a first-hand experience of that Reality. When he left the scene – to err is human, you see – some persons gathered together and they had their own way of thinking. So changes occurred.

Again, another Master came, he found dross was added to Reality, to the teachings of the earlier Master. He thrashed out that dross and again let the people know the truth about Reality, to some extent. Again, another religion started.

The Masters never started any creed. They only gave out to the people: There is one God and you should love Him. How can you love anybody until you see him, get some good out of him? Mere feelings or emotions are simply inferences arrived at by intellectual wrestling. They will not give you any definite satisfaction. They will be wavering. Sometimes you may accept these inferences, but they are all subject to error. Unless you see Reality, come in contact with It first-hand and derive the bliss of It, ineffable and direct, enjoy happiness within – only then will you have love for Him, after having tasted the elixir of that Reality.

When the Masters come what do they tell us? St. John says: God cannot be seen with thine eyes. But then you find that some Masters said they saw God. The question was put to Guru Nanak: “Do you see God?” He replied: “I see God. He is everywhere.” Christ also said: “Behold the Lord.” He pointed to the Lord, saying: “There, behold Him.” No reasoning.

The same question was also put by Swami Vivekananda. He was initially an atheist and challenged everybody: “Is there a God? Is there any man who has seen God?”

In those days, there was a man of realization, Paramahansa Ramakrishna, and he was asked to go to him. Vivekananda went to him and asked: “Master, have you seen God?” The sage replied: “Yes, my child, I see Him as I see you, even more clearly than that.” And he came in time to be a great theist. In the latter days of his life, Vivekananda confessed: “Because of that Godman I was saved.”

You will find that those who profess to be theists are, truly speaking, not so. We have simply learnt in our scriptures that there is God. We have heard this many times, but we have not seen Him. Unless we see something, we cannot be convinced.

When difficulties arise, the vicissitudes of life come up and we have to pass through them, we are bewildered and ask “Is there a God?” We become sceptics. But once you have seen, you have had some experience of Reality, you cannot have any doubt.

The Masters say: “We see Him.” But what are those eyes with which He can be seen?

Shams-i-Tabrez, a Muslim saint, tells us that we should be able to see God with our own eyes and hear His voice with our own ears. You find in the Bible: We have eyes and see not.

What are those eyes? Guru Nanak was asked: “You say you see God everywhere.” He replied: “Those eyes with which you see God are different.” What are those eyes with which you can see God? Those are not outer eyes, but that eye which is within each one of us. That eye is called by Christ the “Single Eye.” The eye is the light of the body. If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. The Hindu scriptures and sayings of other Masters tell us of the Third Eye, or the latent eye. That eye is within each one of us. That one eye is not of the flesh and bone, as those we have outside on our faces.

Guru Nanak defines a blind man as not the one who does not have eyes on his face, but one whose inner eye is not open to see the Light of God.

God cannot be expressed. That absolute state can be had only when you rise into that Reality. But when this Supreme Power is the cause of all creation, immanent in all forms, supporting and maintaining them, It expresses itself in two ways – Light and Sound – and that expression of the God-power is an actual experience of Godmen within. It is said, God is Light. The Mohammedans also say that God is “Noor,” i.e., Light. They say that one who goes above and beyond the physical body and sees the Light of God within is a true Muslim. The Christian can also be defined in the same way; one who sees the Light within is a true Christian. The tenth Guru of the Sikhs says the same thing: Those who see the effulgent Light of God within are true Sikhs, or true “fakirs.” They are pure ones. You will find the same definitions given in all religions, in all the holy scriptures: Have you seen the Light within you? Again, they have said: If you shut the doors of the temple of the body, you will see the Light of Heaven. It is a possibility.

All the scriptures tell us of the Light of God within. The Voice of God also reverberates in each one of us. There is a way in which we may have an experience of that Reality and its expression. That is the way back to God. Has our closed inner eye been opened or not? That is the question. Unless that inner eye be opened, we cannot see the Light of God within us. It is a question of introversion and inversion.

The ultimate goal of all religions is God, and that we should be able to see God. Leaving the non-essentials, what do they tell us? They say, Love thy God. This is said by all the religions. When you see and come in contact with God, only then, truly speaking, can you love God. At present, your loving God is practically impossible. Simply on the emotional side, you sometimes say certain things, but you have no contact with that Reality, and true love does not arise, and does not last.

When the Pharisees and the Sadducees went to Christ they returned in silence, because an intellectual man speaking to a man of realization cannot stand before him. While the latter sees certain things and then speaks, the intellectual man simply quotes verses from the holy scriptures which he has read, and afterwards he cannot reconcile things.

Naturally, when they came to Christ, they became quiet. Then they gathered together and came up to Him. “Now, Master, what is the greatest commandment in the law?” What did he say? Jesus said unto them:

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul and with all thy might. This is the first and greatest of all commandments. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

The ultimate teaching of all social religions is just to love God. As God resides in every heart, love all humanity, all creation. For the love of God, you are to love all humanity. If we have love for all humanity, all other commandments follow. He whom you love, are you going to kill him? Are you going to rob him of his property? Are you going to bear false witness against him? No, not in the least.

Justice?

Depending on what lawyer you have
How much money you have
A matter of sympathy and antipathy?

Lawyers who are able to neutralize sins
To turn lies into truth
Culprits into innocent people

Lawyers who twist the right
If only the money speaks loudly enough
Within hidden corruption

Judges who allow sentences
In the niches of laws
Even the case is clear

Judges who are themselves dependent
Which parties, opinions they belong too
Fall victims to cunning arguments

Judges and lawyers who have forgotten to judge themselves…

Justice degraded to money, reputation, self-interest…

Extreme words

You are nothing but…
You only…
The whole time you are…
All the time you…
You always…
Every time you…
You never ever…

When using these phrases
We are simply unjust
Our intention is: to hurt…
Therefore we generalize
On the surface of communication
Forget the reality
Move on thin ice

There is poison
In these words…
Fired arrows
With a barbed hook…

We become with what we are hit…

Play of the mind

Far and near perspectives:

If we see our world from far
All is one, united
If we come closer
All is separated

Separation in Oneness

However, in reality
There is no far, no near
All is connected, one
Beyond separation

Macrocosm lies in microcosm
And microcosm in Macrocosm

We see the world
According to our understanding

All is a game of the mind…

We need to change
The angle of our perspective…
To change our understanding…
Develop right understanding…

Blind vanity

A narcissist in front of the mirror
Only sees himself/herself
Is blindfolded with blindness
Has vanity in his/her blood
Can not see others
Unable even to listen
Knows everything better
For his/her goal
To “taste” himself/herself
He/she climbs over dead bodies
Is rather destructive
Than constructive
Always listens to the applause
Of his/her fellow men
In his/her imagination

A horror if such a person
Becomes a leader of the society…

However, if so
Than he/she will stumble
Over his/her own shadow and mirror…

The time is ticking…

Starlight – yearning

Nightsky dressed
In a web of dreaming galaxies
With endless sparkling stars
Infinity sinking slowly
In the eye of a child
With magic light

Silence speaks
Weaving the night
With a golden thread
Piercing through eternity
Perls of light

Moonlight vaporizes
Losing in dreams
Between past and now
With empty wishes
In the pulse of light

From deep abyss
Lost faces appear
To greet the heart
A wave of life
A touch of light

Voices from far
Streaming through the night
Whisper blue eternity
Echo of the silent sky
Glamour of the midnight light
Dance in the eye of a child…

Watcher of life

Outside all is changing
Whirls of passing times
Bubbles of coming and going
Morphing moments

Inside all seems the same
Carries my being along the time
Knowing to know
It is me, center of my Self

May be a bit wiser
Through walking experiences
Fragrance of knowledge
That clings to my Self

While the world turns
Faster and faster
A carousel of changing moments
Infuses its magic

My Self in the eye
Of Noting and All
Surrounded by a storm
Of a kaleidoscopic illusion…

Implosion of you and me

As soon born
A line was drawn
Border between
You and me

Mirror broken
Fragments flying around
Separating time and space
Birth of death and life

Thoughts draw lines
Contours of words
Wandering deeds
On a picturesque stage

Everything seems separate
Like pearls on a bead
Conscious fractures
Between me and the world

Everything moves outwardly
To cement lost pieces
Endless searching
Happiness in vain

But inside rests the answer
To find oneself
Unattached to the world:
Big-bang of life, consciousness

Reverse: Implosion of fragments
Restoring the mirror – Picture
Of you and me
Without lines, contours

Formless, timeless
Closed in itself
Eternal happiness
Radiant love

Presciousness of listening

An egostic ear
Can only hear
Listen to itself…

Stale words

How many times it happens
That we deceive ourselves
We identify us with mere words
Without really knowing,
Practically living them

To make us better
Compared with other?
To demonstrate knowledge?
Or to make a show
In front of us?
Or do we just run after
What is in fashion?…

We try to justify it
With some book-reading
And are even proud of it…

However, when reading
A book about water
We cannot squeeze the water
Out of it – not even one drop…

Dreaming life

We dream our life
In all facets
Spin the thread
Multi-dimensionally

Immerse in the depth
Dream we are awake
Stumble over Illusions
Grasping void

Take us by our hands
Dreaming life together
Virtual matrix
Fed and shadowy life

We enter spaces
Whole Universes
Lose us in echos
On the pulse of time

Separate our being
To taste unique life
Experience happiness
In endless wishes

Chained to attachments
We carry heavy loads
Fall victim to them
Deceptive promises

Deeply we sleep in this world
Not knowing we are sleeping
We dream our life
To be alive

Time to be awake
To leave own reflection
Shadow matrix
To live real life

Ignorance in hurting people

Often we are not aware when we hurt someone
For we are so much busy with ourselves, not seeing
That our reaction has a hurting content
As a motto: “I come first…”

We are fast with prejudices
See things on the level of our ego
Too proud to admit when mistakes made
Leave the hurt one alone: “Not my business…”

There is fear to face the truth
That we were wrong, ego-oriented?
A chess-player cannot just see his own chess pieces
Needs to step into each other’s shoes

Only then we learn the “moves” of the other
Better to understand, better to react
Instead of adopting the position: “I do not care…”
So also no reactions – can hurt…

These thoughts packed in silence
Are like an arrow shot into the other’s heart…

Journey to become honest and pure

To be honest
Is a matter of consciousness
To know our own mistakes
A process – walking into the depth

It is easy to say: “I am honest”
How many things we have overseen
Have not considered as honesty, dishonesty
In our daily life?

Yes, I am honest according of what I know
About my present state of mind
Present knowledge of myself
But what about the ignorance of myself?

Then I have missed many things
To consider as honesty, dishonesty
So walking in ourselves
Is to discover, to know ourselves – more and more…

What I claimed yesterday as honesty
May be today under a broadened horizon
So we bear honesty on our shoulders
To get lighter and lighter from ourselves…

The more we find us
The more we lose us
Detached from the world and even ourselves
To become pure in our hearts…

DidiArtist, 15.01.2020

Path of truth

Truth may diviate so much
Of how we understand our world view
That it would trigger a shock in us
Would we really see the truth
As it is

At once our whole conception of the world
Would be upside down…

Therefore: development is necessary
“Seeing is believing!”

May we all advance
On the path of truth

DidiArtist, 30.03.2018

Prayerless Prayer

Wishlessly happy
Free from attachments
Of the world
When completely surrendered,
Devoted to God
Because He is
In the heart
Knowing each thought

This service to God
Land, man and soul
Done with the heart
Becomes a permanent prayer
Without thoughts…

DidiArtist, 16.05.2017

Breath of knowledge

Once our knowledge has practically manifested
It becomes the breath of our life
There, we are no longer ignorant…

However, ignorance is there
Where practical life is missing…

There where practical life is present
Living knowledge and experience
Fill the gap between saying and doing…

DidiArtist, 20.04.2017

Searching for perfection

Perfection lies in the imperfection
It can never be reached
But is a way
To become better and better

Same as with consciousness…
