Sometimes we make a show
Perform a play of theatre
Use friendly words
Pretend humbleness, respect

When life comes to test us
We lose self-control
Are hurt within speculations
React: hurting, punishing

Fired arrows find their goal
Through self-made illusions
Revenge onself for being “hurt”
Self-pleased satisfaction

Words of respect
Crumble, fade away
Reveal the true face
Unmask the show

Our mind has thousands masks…

Not honest towards oneself

We sometimes want to see ourselves differently
From what we really are
We put on a mask
And hide us from ourselves

We seek refuge in a world
That we have tailored for ourselves
Defend it, uphold it
Like a big lie…

Cunning propaganda

He who says of himself: “I am good”
Is surely not good

He who emphasizes: “This is the truth”
Reveals his untruth

He who says: “Trust me”
Is not trustworthy without proof

He who speaks in superlatives: “I am the best”
Points to his I is egoistic

He who says: “I am the right one”
Convinces those who are easily manipulated

He who spreads lies: “All that is fake news”
Hides himself behind fakes

Such people are power-hungry
They feed on ignorance
Rely on the good faith of their followers
Using them to their own advantage

They deceive people and themselves
Their so-called honesty is dishonesty…

Not seldom do we things
With veiled motives
Hiding dully us from ourselves
From our consciousness
To remain unrecognized
In the shadow of other motives
So we ignore the true intentions
Living with a lie in front of ourselves
Not knowing this self-cheating
Feeling even good
Within these second-hand motives…
