Message of goodwill

Usually we have good thoughts for our dear ones
Let us widen our horzont
To give room for the whole world
For good thoughts, words and deeds to everyone

A message that should go
From heart to heart
Torchbearer of light
To bring love in every house

No more violent thoughts
No more harsh words
But kindness and love
Respect and goodwill

Or do we want to be a mirror
Of our bad thoughts?…

Lashed freedom

Strandet at self-created limitations
Horizons fenced with words
Thoughts of right and wrong
Shaking, breaking

Waves of fixed measurements
Strike against the bank of tolerance
On a rigid sea called non-acceptance
Water of no space

Accompanied by fear and pride
Defended knowledge of scarred injuries
Fortress against hostile attackings
House of a snail

Ship of prison in the mind
Should weigh its anchor
To be free from thoughts and words
From luring wishes of these worlds

Like an eagle fly above all clouds…

Be aware before, not after…

Could we see in advance
All the bad things we do
The ripples of our actions
We would change immediately
Not to eat the inedible fruits
To have to harvest and eat them…

So let us think twice
Before we release a word or an action…

Too less – too much

All our thinking and doing
Is dependent on our state of mind

How many things we do
That are wrong
In this state
Only to regret them
After a few moments…

A word too much
A deed too less…

Or:

A word too less
A deed too much…

A word wrongly chosen
A deed wrongly made…

Therefore, think twice
Before doing or speaking…

When words lose meaning and content

Words, once obscene and shameful
Find more and more access
In our daily language use

What was once frowned upon
Sprang from the gutter
Becomes an everyday language

Loses its meaning
Shames our language
Becomes the normal vernacular

It is the people who become emptier
Who make a molehill out of a mountain
No longer distinguish between bad and right

It is the people who devalue values
As decadent inflation, a boom of society
Dimming consciousness, withering humanity

Violence is trivialized, glorified
Sex is sold and praised as love
Money and power worshipped as ideals

Today’s words and deeds show
Where man really stands
Where society stands

It disintegrates in decadence and lust for power
In exchange for consciousness and humanity…

A cosmic boomerang, karmic law

Between my thoughts, deeds and words
Stands a mirror:
Object becomes subject
And subject turns into object

Whatever I do to others is done to me

Cause and effect
Action and reaction…

Do not think evil of others – by Sant Kirpal Singh

An excerpt from the book: “Morning Talks” – by Sant Kirpal Singh

Once Akbar, who was a great Emperor of India, was told by his minister that thoughts were very potent and that great care should be taken in what we think of others. Akbar asked his minister how he knew this. The minister said, “All right, I will give you a concrete example. Let us go outside.” So both of them went outside and they saw one man coming towards them at a distance of a few furlongs. The minister said to the king, “Look here, just think something about this man in your mind and when he comes near, you might ask him what crossed his mind at that time. You are only to look and think.” The king thought in his mind that this man should be shot. The man approached the king and the king asked him, “When you saw my face, what thoughts crossed your mind?” The man said, “Emperor, excuse me, but I thought that I should beat you with my fists and break your head.” So thoughts are very potent. If you think evil of others, the other man will react. You should be careful how you speak to people. If you speak ill to another and say “You are a fool” and things like that, or if somebody calls you a name and you react in the same way, what is the result? There will be a flare-up. A man calls you once, twice and that results in a fight. This is by words, their very root is the thought. A man speaks out of the abundance of his heart. Whatever is lying there, those things take the form of words, then words lead to fighting. So don’t hurt the feelings of others, in thought, word or deed.

Input of feelings

We project values and feelings
In words and thoughts
In human encounters
They draw us into the maelstrom
Of right and wrong
Of happiness and joy
As shadows of ourselves
Evaluate and judge
To reflect feelings, emotions
Moving ego and mind
Like waves of happiness and pain
As a living echo…

Eloquent

Many politicians are good inventors in words
But are they also good inventors in deeds?…

Spreading violence

The more we deal with violence,
Through movies, games, media
The more it influences us…
Is passed on:
In thoughts, words, and deeds

A virus of our mind…

Silent observer of oneself

How big is our contribution
For the world – good or bad?
How many thoughts are bad of us
That make the world worse?
How many of them are good
To make it better?

We keep silent because we don’t know
Because we have an attitude of indifference
Because we let our thoughts run free
Spreading like fire uncontrolled

Every day we fill the world
With good and bad thoughts
Like infecting viruses
A battle of good and evil

Consciousness is being aware
About itself
Where our thoughts lead
What direction they take

When not knowing
We stumble, we fall
Hurt each other
Running after our own thoughts

They carry us from joy to sorrow
In the ups and downs of life
As resonance of all our thoughts
Of our words and deeds

One beat of a butterfly’s wings
Changes the whole world
A single thought as well…

Blind to ourselves

Many of us do not even notice
When our behavior
Through words, gestures and deeds
Hurt the feelings of others

In such a way we are blind to ourselves…

Reaching hearts

Not necessary to twist words
To hold whole lectures
Bend lips and tongues
When reaching a heart

Heart speaks with simple words
Touches you with light
A hug of love
Symphonie between hearts

Beams of light touch each other
Cosmic melody
A dance in Oneness
Vibrating happiness

Poem that find its way
Directly into the heart
Changing the beat
Song of two hearts

Happiness for you and me…

Time for Self-Introspection

Many questions come
Addressed to ourselves:
How has my life been so far?
What have I done wrong?
What can I improve in the future?

So much dirt in my thoughts
Garbage in words and deeds
Pyramid top of a now and here
Time to take stock
Who I was, who I am

How many people have I hurt
Including myself?
In the hamster wheel of equal deeds
Bad habits?
Shame on myself

Every thought, every word, every action
Has a heavyweight
When they hurt
It’s banging against the walls
Of one’s own heart

The scale shows
Where we stand
Honesty and confession may help
To cleanse us from dirt
To become a better person…

Time to bring about the change in us…

Be Good, Do Good, and Be One

Leaving empty-handed

There are many who cling to their power
Who do not want to make room for others
Power is also taken away from them
Whether they like it or not
When death knocks at their door

However, there is justice for everyone:
The mirror of our actions, thoughts and words
Is already waiting for us…

We sow the wind and reap the storm…

The five cardinal virtues of spirituality – by Sant Kirpal Singh

An excerpt from the book: “Crown of life” – written by Sant Kirpal Singh

To cultivate and develop the five cardinal virtues which constitute the bedrock of spirituality.

These are:
1. Ahimsa or Non-injury to all living creatures, and more so to fellow beings, by thoughts, words and deeds the injunction in this behalf being: Injure not a human heart for it is the seat of God. We must have respect for others feelings and tolerance for others opinions.

2. Satayam or Truthfulness: As God is Truth, we must practice Truth in all our dealings. If Truth resides in every heart, it must manifest itself in life and action. Be true to thyself and it must follow as night the day, thou canst not be false to any man. We must therefore avoid falsehood at all costs. It includes, besides downright lies, hypocrisy and dishonesty, suppresso veri [suppression of truth], and suggestio falsi [suggestions of false ideas].

3. Brahmcharya or life of Chastity: It includes continence in thoughts, words and deed-houghts within, for Chastity is life and sexuality is death. If we want to tread the Path of Life Eternal, we must be chaste and clean both within and without.

4. Prem or love for all living creatures and more so for all human beings. Let there be hatred for none. The entire manifestation is the handiwork of God and must therefore be loved and respected. He who does not know love, cannot know God.

5. Nishkam Seva or Selfless Service to all living creatures in sorrow and distress. If one limb of the body is in torture, the other limbs can have no rest. Service before self should therefore be our motto in life.

Stale words

How many times it happens
That we deceive ourselves
We identify us with mere words
Without really knowing,
Practically living them

To make us better
Compared with other?
To demonstrate knowledge?
Or to make a show
In front of us?
Or do we just run after
What is in fashion?…

We try to justify it
With some book-reading
And are even proud of it…

However, when reading
A book about water
We cannot squeeze the water
Out of it – not even one drop…
