Deceit

A nice suit with an attractive tie and collar
cannot polish up the inner clothes,
at best cover them up,
to hide behind external labels.

Appearances are deceptive,
no cunning speech will help.

Clean clothes are not able
to conceal the inner dirt,
smell of lies and fakes.

Running after happiness

Man strives for happiness and recognition.
There are thousands of reasons behind this.
But he orients himself only on the outside,
adorns himself with the illusion
through his external search,
through his clinging to outward appearances,
to achieve satisfaction.

Is this not his lack of love,
a begging for attention,
to be seen, to be understood,
to share his inner self?

No externality can sustain true happiness…
