How much automatism is there in us?

Tradition is also a kind of automatism,
as is that in our language,
in our thinking and doing.
We often copy without understanding,
we do things because that is the norm,
we follow habits largely blindly.

And so we are also servants
of stupidity and ignorance.

We live in a fantasy world

We daydream about being someone or have something,
reveling in wealth or power,
to be seen in the world.
We imagine stories,
build air castles,
bring them to life
in our thoughts and imaginations,
carry wishes in our heads and hearts,
wishes we strive for,
fulfilling them in short-lived happiness.
Unborn desires in our imagination
projected in the beat of our breath.

We hold on to them,
create virtual worlds for ourselves,
give attention to them
in a rollercoaster ride
of positive and negative ideas.

Our lives are determined by them,
which set the direction.
