What is the purpose of life?

Is the purpose of life to accumulate money and things?
To raise a family?
To run after pleasures?
To be as happy as possible?
To fulfil one’s own desires?
To build and follow habits?
To be after acknowledgment and reputation?
Set one’s own memorial?
To repeat this all?
To pass it on to one’s children?

Or is it:
To rise above expectations and desires?
To learn from mistakes?
To overcome one’s own ego?
To serve God and people?
To focus on Oneness as everything is connected?
To become light and love?
To become heart and human?
To connect with eternity?
To awaken from a worldly sleep?
To live and die for God?
To be absorbed in His will?

What is your purpose of life?

Stuck by “happiness”

A beautiful life is no guarantee
To have a beautiful death
And everything that comes after it…

One and thousand faces

When man does not get what he wants
He often shows his ugly side

Empty promises

Desires, wishes, and karmic fruits
Are hanging on the branches of time
When the time is right, ripe
They are “eaten”, sown

However, they never quench our thirst for truth
They are only self-created obstacles
Blind-making illusions…

Wishes of the five elements

We direct our attention
To the high waves of life
Watching for auspicious wishes
Burning with desire
Building castles in the air
Finally stranding at our destination
Caught in the magic of such wishes
In short-lived ectasy
Only to release the anchor again
In the ether of time
On the waves of hope and happiness
Focusing on new lands
Where milk and honey flow

Wishes are like footprints on the seashore
They fade in the waves of coming and going
They keep forcing new wishes upon us
Just to catch a little happiness

This is not the immaculate happiness of life
Our soul searches for, for lasting happiness

Our mind copies the longing of the soul
For that eternal happiness
It chases from wish to wish
Remains trapped in the outside

Blessed are those who are desireless….

Sirens of the World

We admire the real saints and sages
But are too lazy, too distracted
To follow their footsteps

Because the fair of the world enchants
Its glitter steals our attention
Makes false promises

Binding us in a thousand wishes, desires
Into a labyrinth of delusions
Captivating us like Odysseus’ sirens

We should close our ears and eyes….

Hall of mirrors

We are all subject to the same behavioural pattern
Does it not then stand to reason
That we all come from the same source?

The sunbeam belongs to the sun
And the soul to God

Yet we are all prisoners
Of our own desires and needs

This world is like a hall of mirrors
It throws back everything our ego creates….

Sleeping desires

Our desires sleep
Like flower seeds in desert sand
As soon as the first rain comes
They awake and bloom…
