An empty mirror

We can see ourselves in the mirror,
but we only see the outside.
We do not see who we are,
not the character in us,
not the spirit in us.

We see no motives in the mirror,
not the why nor the behind,
see only the reflection,
the shape of the surface,
No depth, no core.

Man clings to this exterior
with his senses,
loses himself in it
without recognising himself.
So we are empty and dead.

A mirror is needed
that shows who we really are.
This mirror has a name:
Self-analysis, self-observation
Always questioning: why, wherefore.

This is how we uncover ourselves,
our mind that keeps us blind,
that makes us believe: we know ourselves.
So the mind remains calm,
falls into the trap of our own mind.

Can seeing see itself?

Moving spirit?

The spirit wanders through the time
leaves traces a million times over,
behind the living moment,
as created shadows,
flowing echoes,
copied memories,
on the stage of time.

Or is it the other way round?
The spirit stands still
while time and life passes it by.

An egoistic play

He who praises himself,
putting others down,
has not understood:
the ABC of humanity,
has not understood himself,
is a stranger to himself.

Topsy-turvy world

Honour and honesty no longer count today.
Those who lie best are supported.
And those who make a show of their lies,
are more credible and will be honoured.

What a topsy-turvy world!
